How do you install and use IBM Aspera Connect with IBM Video Streaming?
IBM Aspera Connect packs its proprietary Fast Adaptive and Secure Protocol (FASP) into your browser for drag and drop functionality.
IBM Aspera Connect is available as a free extension with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer uses an ActiveX control to provide the same functionality. Use your favourite search engine to find “Download IBM Aspera Connect” for your platform. Follow the documentation to install and integrate the extension with your browser(s).
Once you’re enabled, you can take advantage of using two great IBM applications together. In IBM applications that are FASP-enabled, such as IBM Video Streaming (enterprise and internet editions), you’ll see this message appear when you select video upload:
Select your files and you’ll be off to the races…! Aspera Connect has a secondary Transfer Monitor that shows transfer progresss — and how much time you’re going to save. If you’re like me, then you’ll agree that it’s frustrating when internet file transfers (up or down) constantly change the completion time.
